After Draw/Club Rep. Meeting

I've attended the Draw and the Club Rep. Meeting for the 70th Sumida Sports Festival Championships which is held at Sumida General Gymnasium on October 29. From Green Badminton Club, we have Yamaguchi/Ando in MD2, Hagiwara/Shigeta, Ishikawa/Miyauchi Ryo, Leung/Tam, Miyauchi Akira/Shirane in MD3, Kobayashi in WS1 and Fukuda in WS3 competing in this championships.

21 points a game, best of 3 games (when 20-20, the winner needs to make two point margin up to 30). Green Badminton Club, along with Fresh Club, will assist to operate this event. Not only participating members but also cheering members are encourage to help the headquarter.

As many of you know, the first day of this championships on October 22 has been cancelled due to the general election. The chairwoman Mori and Sumida City Government have discussed this matter and come up with the following proposal: (1) Mix Doubles Championships (in sub arena) scheduled on February 11 changes to men's singles/women's doubles (in main arena) and (2) Sumida representative players selection scheduled on March 4 changes to Mix Doubles Championships. The Federation will replay back to Sumida City Government with its final decision after hearing from each participating club by Monday next week. The details of this will be posted here as soon as it is finalized.
